Desktop Analyst/ 1st-2nd Line Support - London- 3 months
My client, an investment company based in London has a requirement for a Desktop Analyst to start a contract role on an initial 3 month contract.
The right candidate should have previous 1st/2nd line helpdesk support experience across Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows XP and Exchange/ Outlook.
The working hours will be from 2pm- 10pm Monday to Friday and it may require occasional weekend support.
Responsibilities:
*Provide technical support and fault resolution for all Windows desktop PCs and some server applications.
*Provide 1st and 2nd Line support to the Service Desk whenever required.
*Perform routine checks, maintenance, maintain domain and data security to the highest level, and any other duties as directed by the User Support Services Manager or Head of Infrastructure, Procurement & Facilities.
*Manage technical projects to deploy new applications and processes to the business.
*Provide technical assistance on any development project which requires Desktop systems. Monitor and advise on any changes made by the client or third party network support staff.
*Produce documentation for new and existing systems.
*Keep up to date with market trends and developments.
Essential Experience:
No professional qualifications required. A good working knowledge of the following:-
*Intel-based PC and Server hardware
*Active Directory and Group Policy
*Microsoft Windows 2000 Server / Windows XP Professional / Windows Server 2003
*Microsoft Office XP, standard desktop apps
*Microsoft Exchange Server / Outlook
*Knowledge of market data applications an advantage but not essential from day one
