SQL Developer - T-SQL, ETL, OLTP, Replication, Service Broker - London - 45 - 55k
Leading online retail company are seeking to recruit both a Senior and midweight SQL developer engineer to join their team asap. You will be looking after front end databases of the website and everything from developing - OLTP, Products, ETL, T-SQL, working with the developers. This is a new role so ideal for someone to come in and make their mark.
Duties include:
* Work in an agile, cross functional team taking responsibility for the engineering team deliverables and quality
* Work closely with team members and business stakeholders to gather and define requirements
* Provide database administration of project and test environments
* Work with Solutions Architects on designing highly efficient database schema and code
* Identify areas in need of performance tuning within the existing database codebase
* Provide guidance to application engineers to promote good database design and coding practices
* Seek out and actively promote new ideas and techniques with regards to data creation, storage, modification and retrieval
Looking for people with strong T-SQL skills and comprehension of database theory (ACID, Normalisation, Transactional consistency, etc) and the following:
* SQL server, using it to its full potential, and wringing every drop of performance from it, Broad sprectrum, service Broker, SSDT etc
* You will have delivered projects for high transaction 24/7 OLTP SQL Server environments
* You may have experience of delivering projects against the SQL Server BI platforms (AS, SSIS, SSRS) and Data Warehouses, or are at least very keen to learn more about them
* You will likely have a retail or eCommerce background
* OLTP Database Design, when to use constraints, and selecting the right data-types
* T-SQL (DML & DDL): How to use set based logic and writing queries beyond just CRUD, ACID
* SSDT, Redgate Tools
* SQL Server security and encryption
* Visual Studio 2010
* Behaviour Driven Development (BDD)/Test Driven Development (TDD)
* Data movement via Transactional Replication and SQL Service Broker and message based solutions
* Visual Studio / TFS and working with Database Projects
